Car Free Day 2022

Oct 05, 2022

Summer 2022 was a very exciting time for VanWalks. I spent the pandemic holed up in my apartment working on it. This was the first time I was able to get out into the world and promote it!

Car Free Day offered a great opportunity to get into the community and spread the word. I figured the kinds of people who go to Car Free Day are the ones most likely to be into a walking tour app. The combination proved to be a success! I had a lot people interested in checking out the tours, and many suggested other people who might be into it.

I attended all three days: Commercial Drive, Main St, and the West End. Main St had the best turnout, being the original strip of Car Free Day, but the others were great as well. And the weather was perfect for all three days!

I’m also very excited to announce the winner of the Harbour Air float plane tour! Katie H. From Vancouver, who stopped by on Commercial Drive, will be joining me for an arial adventure. Stay tuned to the VanWalks Instagram to get updates about the tour!
